I’ve been Tottied…..

This is shameless promotion thanks to Noreen Crone-Findlay’s interview on her Tottie Talks Crafts blog & where you can  read more interviews of Artists who contributed to the 2010 Freeform  Freeform Challenge book ‘Somewhere in my world‘.  The proceeds of the book will go to Kiva.org & Mercy Corp for Haitian relief which, I’m sure you’ll agree, are 2 worthy causes.

The 2010 International Freeform Guild’s show, Somewhere in My World includes 61 freeform fiber artists from all around the globe.

Happiness for your Hair…..

I made a few of these cute little hair combs as custom orders & thought I’d share the happiness  – the flowers were crochet then felted & hand dyed – a bit of fun….

Something a bit different from me…

Like most crafters, I love craft magazines. My bookshelf is overflowing with an array of different issues, everything from: crochet, knitting, beading, paper, you name it… I’ll have a mag about it somewhere. They are such a wealth of information for what’s happening in the craft world, new ideas & where suppliers hideout & can be found. However, & only due to lack of time, I don’t usually contribute to them.

So, when I was asked if I could come up with some ideas to revamp clothes for little girls for the new Embellish Magazine, I was at quite a loss as to what to do – after all, it’s rather ‘left field’ for me…. nevertheless, always up for a challenge, I came up with these simple patterns that I feel sure will prolong the life of that favourite skirt/dress for the little miss in your life.

Embellish is published by ArtWear Publications & also the home of Yarn & Felt & Magazines. If you haven’t done so already, check out these great magazines, you’ll be pleasantly surprised… enjoy

Acacia inspired…..

Anyone who has seen Australia’s beautiful Acacia in its full-bloom glory will appreciate the lovely warm tones that inspired this little handbag – although I rarely keep track, I think I may have  incorporated over 40 different yarns when creating this piece….

Freeform Challenge 2010

It is such an honour to be included in this wonderful collaboration of Freeform Artists from around the world. None of us saw each other’s pieces until now, so it’s a delicious surprise  to see how we each interpreted the theme ‘Somewhere in My World’. A huge thank you must go the Myra Wood for her inspiration & curating this fabulous eye candy.

Please… take a look, but be warned… the inspirational content may be contagious & you’ll never be the same again……
