Diagonal Granny Square

Download the pattern here

Changing colour with tr (US dc): bring in new (carried) colour when 2 loops of last st remain on hook, drop old colour, pick up new colour and draw through 2 loops, the diagram shows dc (US sc) but the principle is the same

Working over colours not in use: carry unused (dropped) colour along as you work in new colour, picking up the stitch and unused yarn together ~ this method does use more yarn but you will have fewer tail ends to sew in later

~ The written pattern for this diagonal Granny Square is quite wordy ~ hopefully the stitch diagrams will help ~

  1. I have a question – on the wrong side – how do you hide the stretches of yarn that are not hidden when a stitch is made? I have a lot of loose yarn…..Thank you –

  2. hi,
i love the work you’ve done here.
i have a question how did you draw the pattern like that ? by you hands or a program ?

    thanks
